Billy Alcordo: A piano consultant’s history

Billy Alcordo is a 3rd generation piano tuner and also a piano technician. Back in the Philippines, in the city of Davao, the Alcordo family owned and operated a piano re-building business. His grandfather, Rogaciano Alcordo Sr. worked at Robinson’s Piano factory in Manila, after the second world war. It was where he learned the piano servicing trade. After he gained all the knowledge he needed to open a shop of his own, he then migrated to Davao City where he founded and operated the family business, Alcordo & Sons.

He taught his sons which also include Aristedes Alcordo all his knowledge about the piano servicing business. Aristedes Alcordo was the father of Billy Alcordo.

Billy Alcordo learned the trade by helping out in their shop every school break while he was still in high school. Through the mentorship and guidance of his father and grandfather, Billy certainly gained knowledge on how to tune and repair pianos.
