Piano Tuning In One Hour

Question – Can a piano be COMPLETELY and PROPERLY tuned in 1 Hour?…

Answer – NO – It is physically & virtually impossible.

Reason – Depending on the piano, a standard 88 keys large grand piano has more or less 230 individual strings in it. Each note has three strings in the treble, two strings in the tenor and part of the bass, and only one in the very low bass. Most have 65 trebles (X 3=195), 12 tenor/bass (X 2=24), and 11 single low bass, so it comes out to 230. But that‘s a large grand, so you need to look in your piano and count them up.

If a piano tuner can tune in a rate of 1 minute / string, He still needs 230 Minutes (3.8 Hours) to completely and properly tune a piano.

Even if the piano tuner is fast and can tune at a rate of 30 seconds / string, He will still need at least 115 Minutes (1.9 Hours) to completely and properly tune a piano.

“It is just simple mathematics”…
